Joe Cole returns home from knee surgery

Chelsea and England midfielder Joe Cole has returned home from hospital following knee surgery.

The 27-year-old, who has scored 10 goals in 53 appearances for England, is out for the rest of the season after damaging his cruciate ligaments during Chelsea's 4-1 FA Cup third round replay victory at Southend.

Cole, seen below arriving home with his right leg in a full leg brace, seemed in chipper mood, despite apparently struggling to negotiate the steps to his home on his new crutches.
