Photos: Stevie creates his boots
Steven Gerrard transferred his flair on the football field to the sketchpad during an advertising campaign for mi-adidas at Melwood recently.
The Reds midfielder was given the opportunity to showcase the perfect pair of football boots, with the shape, colour and style all the result of the No. 8's design.
The skipper took to the task with the type of creative genius that has made him such an icon on the pitch and later admitted he had relished the opportunity to make his own unique boot.
Gerrard told Liverpoolfc.tv: "This is a concept where you can make and design your own boot, pick your own colours and basically have the boot as you want it to look. In the future there will be more colours to come.
"It's very exciting and I've already designed my first one. I've always been moaning to adidas that I wanted my own boot - I wanted to pick my own colours. It's exciting and fun to do."
The new Gerrard design may well be aesthetically pleasing, but the key question for Reds fans is whether it does the job on the pitch?
If their first outing is anything to go by, then they are indeed a hit, as the club's talisman netted twice in the 3-2 defeat to Manchester United.
