Liverpool WAG Abbey Clancy hosts charity fashion show for Claire House Children’s Hospice

LIVERPOOL model Abbey Clancy returned to her home city to host a charity fashion show.

The WAG, who is the girlfriend of ex-Liverpool striker Peter Crouch, presented at the Claire House Fashion Show at St George’s Hall last night.

Wearing a little black Acne dress from Harrods, Abbey announced the collections, which included pieces by Sir Paul McCartney’s fashion designer daughter Stella McCartney.

She said: “I wanted to raise awareness for Claire House and to raise as much money as we can. The collections were amazing and I had a feeling I would probably go home with a lighter pocket.

“Liverpool girls are renowned for their sense of style so it was interesting to see designs from the Liverpool boutiques.”

The 23-year-old, from Woolton, who moved to a new home in Surrey with Peter Crouch last June, said: “I think because Claire House is Merseyside based and because it’s for the kids I was interested straight away.

“I’m really busy at the moment with the house and I’ve got some TV work coming up but if I’m asked to help with something like this, I just tell work something better has come up.”

Abbey, who models underwear for Matalan, watched the show with her mum Karen, brother John, sister Elle and cousin Chloe.

The event was organised by four students from the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts in aid of Claire House Children's Hospice in Wirral.

The spotlight fell on clothes from Rare, Liverpool’s Boudoir Boutique, Wallasey’s Repooc Couture, Liverpool fashion designer Caroline Oates, Ted Baker, Mango, Zara and Miss Sixty.

LIPA management student and event organiser Rebecca Boyce, 20, said: “We secured donations from leading designers such as Stella McCartney, Zara, Mango, Miss Sixty, Ted Baker, Secret Drawer and Repooc.

“This year is an important milestone for the charity because it celebrates its 10th anniversary.

“We were really happy Abbey wanted to get involved.”
