Liverpool footballer Steven Gerrard arrives at North Sefton magistrates court, in Southport, north-west England, on January 23, 2009. England football star Steven Gerrard was charged with assault over an alleged bar brawl in a Southport bar on December 29, 2008 while celebrating a win for Premiership leaders Liverpool. Gerrard could technically face up to five years in jail for the offence
